Salsa at City Hall is a weekly, free event that takes place on Wednesdays from July 8 until the end of August
The social begins with a class from 6-7 PM followed by four hours of social dancing and one/two performances.
On July 15, we have a workshop in Kizomba offered by Capital Kizomba. Kizomba is not a latin, but it is a partnered social dance that has exploded in popularity. It originates from Angola and has its roots in semba and zouk. In a few words I would describe it as sensual, romantic and playful.
From 7-11 pm, DJ Luis and DJ La China will be heating up the dance floor. Luis will play 7-9, and I will play from 9-11 pm. I'm thrilled by this opportunity, this will be the 'biggest' crowd I've ever played for!
For the earlier part of the night, I will also be there with my photography class from School of Photography Art Ottawa. This will be our 'on-location' shoot, and the photos will be shared with everyone attending through social media. Look out for us, and don't worry we will only post the best photos from the night.
