Located five kilometres east of downtown Quebec, Îsle d'Orléans is a hidden gem. The island is only 34 kilometres long and 8 kilometres wide, but is known for its local farms that produce strawberries, apples, maple syrup, and fresh cheese. There are even a few wineries!
We visited the island for Catherine and Francois’ civil ceremony; we stayed less than 24 hours but it was enough to make a last impression.
A few pics from the beautiful wedding!
The dinner reception for our small group was held at Isle de Bacchus vineyard. The chef is known for his ability to prepare food using only his barbecue; although a challenge given the heavy rain, it didn't seem to affect the outcome - delicious!
